Why Cook From Scratch?

Hey guys, okay did you know that almost all the foods we buy from the store that are pre-made and packaged to last have very unhealthy ingredients in them? Seriously, so bad that I try to avoid them at all costs.
Ingredients like food dyes, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavours, monosodium glutamate, BHT and BHA, sodium benzonate, potassium bromate, bisphenols, phthalates, carrageenan and more can all have very negative, lasting effects on our health.
ADHD, hormone disruption, behaviour issues, neurodevelopmental effects, memory problems, allergies, gut and digestive issues, cancer, problems focussing, diabetes, heart disease, grogginess and low energy levels are just a FEW of the issues caused by the ingredients listed above.
When we cook our own food and use real ingredients that come from nature, we provide ourselves with nutrient-rich, energy-boosting options that fuel our bodies, not just fill them. This is especially important for children as they are continuously growing and developing. Toxic ingredients, such as the ones listed above, can interfere with and delay proper development.
Cooking our own meals has also been proven to be therapeutic, reducing stress and even enhancing relationships when cooking with friends, spouses and children. Okay, maybe cooking with children isn't always therapeutic and stress-reducing, 😂... but it has the potential to develop lasting, cherished memories for everyone- good or bad. LOL
So whether you’re looking to improve your health, learn a new skill or just spend quality time with a loved one, Something Simple: The Cookbook has you covered!
I would love to hear from you. What is your favourite food to cook from scratch? What is something you would love to cook from scratch but are scared to attempt? Or do you cook from scratch at all? Let's chat below!
